Summer doldrums

The weather is warming and the air is getting sticky. The slow pace of summer approaches. This means mowing the grass and not doing much else on the weekends. Trips here and there, Yankee games once in a while and summer curling club projects.

The Triple Crown ended with a fizzle. Did not bet the Belmont and saved money on that one as well. Horse racing seems to be in trouble all over the country. Just no excitement to the sport anymore.

The Phils are mired in a deep offense slump as the whole team has forgotten how to hit. The good thing is the rest of the division is playing .500 ball as well so they are still in the hunt. Lots of season left to get turned around and win the division.

Summer curling projects include sending our rocks to Canada for reconditioning. The Olympic push really helped to increase the club coffers and made this possible. Time to start working on building the painting tank for next season as well. Looks like ice making will start in late August again this year and that date is getting closer all the time.

Off to Canada again this summer for a relaxing time at Lake of the Woods. Time to catch up with friends up there and do a little fishing. Always fun.

Later,
