Very sad news

Elisabeth Childs has passed away, we have lost a great soul.

Elisabeth opened her home to hundreds over the years so they had a place to stay during bonspiels in Norfolk. She was always present in the warm room to watch games when she could no longer curl. Any trip to Norfolk included a stop at the house to say hello.

She will be greatly missed by many.

Condolences to the entire Childs family.

She was a kind woman who opened her home to many.

I remember signing the guest book she kept the first time I went to the Calder bonspiel a few years ago and marveling at all the names of all the curlers who had preceded us in experiencing the Childs' family hospitality.

I remember the way she had her bird feeders set up so she could still watch the birds even when she was having health problems that restricted her to her bed for periods of time.

Most of all I remember how everyone at the NCC would get excited when she visited. It was a royal visit and a visit from a favorite relative all rolled into one happening.

May she rest well and in peace.
